Arthur Rimbaud’s quote “One must be absolutely modern” expresses the need to avoid stagnation and have the courage to embrace new ideas and change. From the author’s perspective, modernity can mean personal and artistic freedom, finding one’s own path, and questioning certainties. Today, the quote can be understood as a reminder that openness, curiosity, and the ability to adapt do not necessarily mean losing one’s authenticity. Rimbaud invites us to reflect on life, growth, and the direction we want to take.
