Yul Brynner

The charismatic actor with his unmistakably shaved head captivated audiences as the King of Siam in the musical and film The King and I, for which he won an Oscar. Born in Russia, he made his name primarily in Hollywood and also gave a memorable performance in the western The Magnificent Seven. In addition to acting, he pursued photography and, after being diagnosed with lung cancer, became a powerful voice warning against smoking.
