Wilhelm Grimm

24. 2. 1786 – 16. 12. 1859

Together with his brother Jacob, he preserved folk tales for future generations—stories still read by children and adults around the world today. He was a German linguist, professor, and meticulous collector of stories. However, he became famous for more than just fairy tales: he also made significant contributions to the study of Germanic languages and helped shape the modern form of the fairy-tale tradition.
