Theodosius Dobzhansky

He was among the pioneers of evolutionary genetics and significantly connected Darwinism with genetics within the modern evolutionary synthesis. He became famous for the statement: “Nothing in biology makes sense except in the light of evolution.” Through his research on fruit fly populations, he helped lay the foundations of modern evolutionary biology, and his work inspired entire generations of scientists around the world.
