Miroslav Žbirka

He was one of the most distinctive figures in Czechoslovak pop music. A singer, composer and guitarist with an unmistakable voice, he helped found the band Modus and later built a successful solo career. He became famous for hits such as “Balada o poľných vtákoch” and “Atlantída,” and his melodic, sensitive songs accompanied entire generations of listeners. For his work, he received numerous awards, including the Golden Nightingale.
