Milada Horáková

An uncompromising advocate of human rights and democracy, she joined the resistance during the Nazi occupation and, after the war, refused to yield to the emerging communist regime. She paid for her loyalty to her principles with her life in 1950, following a fabricated political trial. To this day, she remains a powerful symbol of courage, justice, and civic bravery.
