Michael Faraday

From humble beginnings, he rose to become one of the greatest physicists and chemists of the 19th century. He became famous for his groundbreaking discoveries in electromagnetism and electrochemistry, above all the principle of electromagnetic induction. His experiments laid the foundations for the electric generator and transformer. He was also able to present science in a clear and engaging way, inspiring generations of researchers.
