Karl Kautsky

He was one of the most influential Marxist thinkers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and his writings profoundly shaped the social democratic movement throughout Europe. From a close associate of Friedrich Engels and an advocate of revolutionary socialism, he became a proponent of a gradual, evolutionary path to socialism and a sharp critic of the Bolshevik Revolution.
