John Jay

He was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States and played a significant role in shaping the new republic. As a co-author of the Federalist Papers, he supported the adoption of the Constitution, and as a diplomat, he helped negotiate peace with Britain after the War of Independence. He later became the first Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court and subsequently the governor of the state of New York.
